Volcano on a clear day...


Tonight Sherri and I went for a drive because it was a BEAUTIFUL clear day!! On our way to Girdwood we could see Mt. Redoubt, the volcano, across the inlet and it had a steam plume coming out of it so we had to pull over and snap a picture.

The volcano hasn't erupted in a few weeks but the reports are that it is in a stage of "lava dome building", which means that if and when it erupts again it could be a big one.

Any guess on how many miles from the volcano you were when you took that picture?

We were approx. 100 miles from Redoubt when we took this picture.
